Kennon Road

It was in 1903 when Kennon Road made its final construction. Named after Col. Lyman W. Kennon, final builder of the famous Benguet Road, with the help of the industrious Cordillerans and foreign workers. The Igorots and Japanese were the original workers, admired for their keenness and trustworthiness to work.

One of the three major access roads from Manila to Baguio including the provinces in the central and western parts of Luzon. Considered as the most scenic road in the country for its sharp hairpin turns, narrow lanes and blind curves. Late afternoon, fog causes poor and limited visibility along the roadway. The road is very slippery when it rains; guard rails are not strong enough to stop a way ward vehicle from falling into a deep ravine beside it. But in spite of the numerous accidents, still many tourists and visitors still pass through it to see the breathtaking sceneries.
